Shtogg: I recorded my first album in 2003. I titled the work "Deplete" and that says a lot, as my work from that time period sounds like introverted punk rockers on Valium; it ain't pretty and it's quite gruelling actually. I still do music and I still don't do it so pretty. I'm just a songwriter who loves to record, although now I'm more intent on making my music more bizarre; in an interesting and artistic kind of way. One thing I notice is that the older I get, the less mature my songs seem to become. I have no theories to offer on this. Maybe I'm just hiding from something -- Dr Phil says so.
Perhaps one day, I'll have real music talent and then I can branch out to beyond what I'm doing now -- perhaps in making great butt jiggle music or perhaps in performing opera. Either way, as I continue to master my craft, I would really like my works to be recognized in a Stephen King and/or Pink Floyd kind of way. I admire their works. I just have to polish up my material a bit.
I would like my songs placed in film -- those deemed "psychological thrillers". This is because my works usually have a brooding theme whipped with estrangement and some degree of madness, so I plainly see them hand to hand with thrillers. Theme or no theme, my music amounts to being ambiguously neutral. And, on recent occasions, I attempt being more neat or "commercial" by producing songs that the average listener may enjoy for a change. The boundaries are neither straight nor certain, as I am influenced by so many styles of music. I do, however, take a great deal of personal satisfaction recording.
